Upon arrival to Zagreb Airport, transfer to hotel. Accommodation in the hotel. After a good night’s rest, we will be ready to start our adventure around Croatia tomorrow!
Day 2: Zagreb - Zadar
After breakfast, we will visit Zagreb. First, we will get to know this beautiful European capital by means of a panoramic glance from the bus. Among the places we will visit, it is worth mentioning: the marvelous Mirogoj cemetery, which could be easily mistaken for an art gallery, and the Dolac, an open-air market where Zagrebians buy their groceries. We will also pass through the historical Upper Town, where time appears to have stopped, the medieval centre with St. Marks’ Church, the Cathedral and Kamenita Vrata. Kamenita Vrata is the alley we must pass through to get to the Upper Town and it is nowadays a Christian devotion place because the image of Our Lady of Kamenita Vrata -patron Saint of Zagreb- can be found, which miracoulously survived the great fire of 1731. We will also see Zagreb’s main square: “Trg Bana Josipa Jelacica”. This square is visited by thousands of people on a daily basis and it is the most popular meeting point in the city. After the city tour, you have free time for lunch and then depart towards Zadar which, according to famous film director Alfred Hitchcock, has the best sunset in the world. Come and see it for yourselves!
Day 3: Zadar - Trogir-Split
After breakfast, visit the city on foot. Apart from a breathtaking sunset, Zadar is known for its magnificent promenade, the sea organ, the greeting to the sun, the Dalmatian ham and the liquor Maraschino. Explore Zadar’s rich heritage: the Roman Forum, St. Donat’s Church, St. Anastasia’s Cathedral, Kalelarga Street and the city walls. After, depart towards Split. You have free time to stroll around the city, after which you can depart to Split.
Day 4: Split-Dubrovnik
After breakfast, visit Split. In the centre of the city, we will find the Palace built by the Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. Apart from the vast history that the Palace has experienced, in its premises the 5th season of the popular TV series Game of Thrones was filmed. Visit the Palace’s cellars, the peristyle, the Cathedral and Jupiter’s Temple. After this sightseeing, you have free time for lunch and some more strolling around this captivating city. Later, depart towards Dubrovnik, the city known as the pearl of the Adriatic.
