Lucern: Of old towns and frescos. Lucern is that quintessential European town with its share of museums, walks on cobblestone streets, monuments, fountains of chocolate (yes, thats right). The banks on either side of Reuss have their own culture; one caters to the students, the other to the well-heeled traveller. The beautiful bridges that connect the two banks are wooden, historic and laced with flowers with a special mention of Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), a colourful 14th-century covered bridge that spans the river Reuss. Don't forget to explore the old town on foot and marvel at the frescos of Weinmarket square.

For those who like a bit of beach fun to go with the old-town life, you have the Lucern Lido, which is a beach that stretches 300m for the beach revellers to spend a day in the sun.

Montreux: A beautiful resort town located on the banks of Lake Geneva, it has inspired artists, poets, writers, travellers alike. Most famous for its Montreux Jazz festival held in July, it also offers a Jazz cafe to get your fill during non-summer months. Take a trip in the Belle Epoque train to get a whiff of nostalgia while enjoying spectacular views, which combines the charm of the 30’s with modern comfort. Make a day trip to the terraced vineyards of Lavaux at the Montreux Riviera, or enrich your day with lakeside strolls, a visit to the Chillon Castle which is home to a museum and wonderful views. So much to experience, right here in this quiet riverside gem.

Bern:More of a city than a town, it is a heady mix of city offerings for the modern traveller. Framed by the Aare river, the city boasts of great places to eat, plenty of museums, cafes, gardens, shopping arcades for the urban traveller. The History Museum, the Art Museum, The Albert Einstein House, the Swiss Alpine Museum, Communication Museum, the clock tower are some of its offerings. The old town is a UNESCO heritage site and an ancient Granary is a home to City Theater's Kornhausbühne. The Swiss capital leaves you with plenty of options to chill out.

Lauterbrunnen:‘Lauter Brunnen’ translates to ‘many fountains’, which hints at the 72 waterfalls which can be found in the valley. The reason why we choose this tiny shy village over its more popular cousinsin the Jungfrau region Grindelwald and Wengen, is because it retains a quaint charm to it. It leads to many hikes and trails, something that our travellers enjoy a lot. With less than 3000 residents and its chateau like houses, it has a cosy feel to the whole town, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. It falls on the climb up to Jungfraujoch and it is a stop away from Wengen on the incline.

Gruyeres: This is for the ones who love their cheese and live for their chocolate. The home to cheese and chocolate factories, its a must-visit for the aficionados. A cute old town makes for great strolls, which you will need after all that yummy. Straight out of a medieval folk tale, the town is home to a 13th-century castle, with its Knights’ Hall, turrets, battlements, defensive walls and garden. The town has a Fondue academy which gives a first-hand experience into the art of fondue preparation by master cheesemakers. A workshop at the Chocolaterie de Gruyères will give you an insider’s view of the confectionary journey. So many yummy things, in this tiny town that is only a short train ride away from Montreux.

Zermatt: The highest mountain in Switzerland and even Europe, it is located at a staggering 3500m asl. The Matterhorn keeps an eye over the town and forms a fantastic frame for photographs. Its location in the middle of an enormous hiking and ski region makes it one of the world's most attractive vacation villages. The entire region is called Matterhorn glacier Paradise. It is a quintessential favourite with adventure seekers, thanks to the permafrost in Zermatt Glacier, there is snow, all year round. But it's not all snow and games here, with its culinary culture drawing quite the crowd. The two Michelin star restaurants here have their loyal patronage .

St. Moriz: One of the most exclusive ski holiday destinations in the world, St Moriz has hosted the Winter Olympics twice. It is said to be a trendsetter of Alpine tourism. For the thrill-seekers, this one is a love affair. Right from traditional hiking and mountain biking, guests can also try their hand at sailing, rowing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, tennis, minigolf or horse riding during summer,  mountaineers have a shot at the Upper Engadine range. During winters it's skiing, snowboarding and a plethora of snowbound sports to choose from.

Locarno: For that little bit of Italy in Switzerland, head to Locarno for this special experience. Located 2 hours north of Milan, 3 hours south of Zurich, this picturesque offering is the best of both worlds. Candy-coloured palazzos; open-air cafés; a generally relaxed attitude with blooms of citrus, bougainvillaea, camelia, grapevines on the bank of Lake Maggiore will welcome you.  Termali Salini & Spa Locarno on the edge of the Lake with waterfall-fed salt baths is a mood refresher. The 113 yr old Funicular Locarno up to Sacred Mount Madonna del Sasso will fetch you some great vistas. The heart of the city is the Piazza Grande, well-known for its annual film festival. With 2300 hours of sunshine, the warmest town in Switzerland is sure to strike a beat with you.
